Salt Water Taffy is a soft candy with a chewy texture and sweet flavour.
The name is said to have been derived from an incident of a boardwalk candy shop being flooded with water from the Atlantic Ocean in 1883. Although it has the words ‘salt water’ in the name, it does not contain any salt water. However, both water and salt are usually added at some point during the production process. Salt Water Taffy is generally made from sugar, corn syrup, oil, flavouring and colouring.
Ingredients: corn syrup, sugar, coconut oil, sea salt, egg whites, evaporated milk, cocoa, sunflower lecithin, natural and artificial flavour, artificial colour (129, 133, 102, 110).
