This is a great flavour, not overpowering at all. There is a subtle yet genuine blueberry flavour to this one, which works surprisingly well with the saltiness of the taffy. You could close your eyes and convince yourself you are eating blueberries if you ignore the difference in texture.

The name is said to have been derived from an incident of a boardwalk candy shop being flooded with water from the Atlantic Ocean in 1883. Although it has the words ‘salt water’ in the name, it does not contain any salt water. However, both water and salt are usually added at some point during the production process.
