This taffy is sweet, sour and somewhere in between. Not reminiscent of an apple pie until after you have finished when it leaves you with the decadent after taste of having eaten apple pie with custard. A surprising end.

Salt Water Taffy is a soft candy with a chewy texture and sweet flavour.
The name is said to have been derived from an incident of a boardwalk candy shop being flooded with water from the Atlantic Ocean in 1883. Although it has the words ‘salt water’ in the name, it does not contain any salt water. However, both water and salt are usually added at some point during the production process. Salt Water Taffy is generally made from sugar, corn syrup, oil, flavouring and colouring
